Olympic Games

At the Olympic Games Justyna Kowalczyk won three medals: bronze, silver and gold. The gold medal she won at a distance of 30 kilometers. Justyna was faster than Marit Bjoergen by 0,3 seconds. It's the second gold medal in the history of Poland. In the ski jumping competition Adam Małysz won two silver medals. Only Simmon Amman was better than Małysz.

Handball

Polish national handball team took the fourth place at the European Championship. Poland lost in the semifinal playing against Croatia after that we lost the game against Iceland. However this was a historic success for the Polish team. The championship were held from 19 to 31 January 2010.

Ski jumping

On 26.11.09 there were qualifications to Sundays's ski jumping competition. Four Poles qualified but Adam Małysz didn't. On Saturday the Polish team took the fifth place in the team competition.

Real Madrid vs AD Alcorcon

On 28.10.09th match was held between Real Madrid and AD Alcorcon in the Spain Cup. Alcorcon is currently in third league and it was a sensational defeat of Real Madrid. Real lost the first game 0:4 and won the second match 1:0. In the two games the goalkeeper was Jerzy Dudek.

The fight of the century

The Polish fight of the century between Andrzej Gołota and Tomasz Adamek was held on 24 October in Łódź. From the beginning Adamek was better than Gołota. He was faster and he punched firmly in the head. In the fifth round the referee stopped the fight because Gołota was too weak to continue fighting.

New coach of the Polish football team

On 29 October new coach of Polish national team was selected. It was Franciszek Smuda who replaced Leo Beenhakker. The representation is now on the training camp. There the coach will choose the players for the next match.
